Homeschooling with his Bestest Buddy

As part of his diary project, aside from expressing it in words I also encourage him to doodle or express it through any art forms.  Here’s his doodle, he didn’t copied the picture below, merely a self expression coming from his mind. I love how he translate it into a cartoon doodle as  I compared it to the picture I took.

I’m a Rabbit!

Here’s my creative little boy saying “I am a rabbit” after sticking the 2 post it paper to his forehead. And he keeps hopping around. I’m glad we said yes when he asked us if he can have the post it, supposedly it’s for our schedule listing.

Knowledge is limited.
Imagination encircles the world.

Learning Science while having fun!

If I let him sit still while answering the workbook he would definitely complain, make excuses or even cry. Since he’s a kinesthetic learner we did the sinking and floating topic more enjoyable and fun for him. Voila! He answered the workbook without me forcing him to do it. At the end of the activity he went splashing in the mini pool still wearing a shirt & pajama. I’m teaching him wearing a pajama too. Homeschooling is really fun!

Love Never Fails 1st Corinthians 13:4-8

I love incorporating my art to my son’s learning together with God’s wonderful words in the bible. In such a way that I can use it in correcting his attitude. This is our primary goal why we homeschooled him, to build his character while academics were just secondary. Parenting is quiet so tough specially if you have a defiant child, seems that sometimes you’re out of track, exhausted and feeling helpless but it is our duty and our mission given by God. Here’s his message in  2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Here’s my son reading 1st Corinthians 13:4-8, Love Never Fails. For his reading material I make the layout and illustrations more subtle so he can gain more attention to the text.

Day 1: Homeschooling with Catholic Filipino Academy

This is how our first day of homeschooling became using Catholic Filipino Academy Kinder 1 curriculum. The Christian living subject is our primary guide, blended with other subjects particulary Science, Reading and Math. I customized it using my vector illustrations since my son is a visual learner, supplemented it with some good picture books.
